About the Role

Processing of night audit reporting and oversight of 3rd shift hotel operations. Responds to and services guests’ needs. Responsible for balancing the daily operations of the hotel. Performs a variety of clerical duties including basic computer work and simple accounting tasks.

Schedule

Part-Time: Monday-Wednesday (must be able to work all night, but also available for other shifts at the front desk).

Responsibilities

  • Perform night audit reporting and balance the day’s business in a neat and orderly fashion within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Respond to guests immediately upon entering the lobby (10-5 Rule must be maintained at all times).
  • Complete all tasks described on the relevant shift checklist during the shift.
  • Review the credit of guest accounts daily and follow up if action is required.
  • Keep the cash drawer secure and in balance throughout the shift.
  • Sell and upsell rooms to walk-ins and phone reservations.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel systems, including phone PBX, key lock system, PMS reservation systems, and fire alarm/evacuation procedures.
  • Know and adhere to hotel brand standards and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area, uniform, and appearance.
  • Strive for 100% occupancy and 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate patience, understanding, and excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company business functions, including financial status, guest information, and employee issues.
  • Interact positively and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition for effective communication with guests and staff.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and financial management skills.
  • Good work ethic, honesty, and ability to work well with others.
  • Strong cash handling skills, including making change and managing a cash drawer.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Prior customer service experience; prior accounting experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours in a restrictive space/environment.
  • Eyesight enabling near and far vision, with finger dexterity for typing and computer work.
  • Clear, understandable voice and basic hearing ability to understand English.
  • Ability to bend, stretch arms overhead, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
