About the Role
The NICU Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Responsibilities
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment
- Provide for a safe environment for patients and visitors
- Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to neonates from post delivery stabilization through discharge
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice with assistance to neonates
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
