NGM - Chief Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Support operations through consistent and timely performance of the daily activities pertaining to the survey function, including the layout and maintenance of survey reference marks
• Ensure the regular review of mine survey processes and investigate, assess, and where appropriate, trial new methods or technology
• Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and calibration of survey equipment
• Reconcile weekly and monthly survey measures
• Manage and direct the activities of the surveying team, provide direction and coaching
• Manage plans, budgets and schedules to ensure important deadlines are met and budget constraints are adhered to

Qualifications

• Professional certification preferred (e.g., Registered Professional Land Surveyor or Authorized Mine Surveyor) required
• Expert proficiency in survey instruments, including total stations, drones, CMS, and C-ALS scanners required
• Advanced skills in survey software: Deswik CAD, Leica Infinity, Move3, and Star*Net required
• Comprehensive knowledge of coordinate geometry (COGO) and least squares adjustments required
• Minimum of ten (10) years extensive surveying work experience, preferably in an underground mining environment preferred
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities required
• Strategic thinker with advanced problem-solving capabilities required
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement required
