About the Role

The Nurse Technician II (NT II) is a senior-level nursing student currently attending an accredited associate or baccalaureate degree nursing program. The NT II is accountable for supporting patient care activities, under the supervision of a registered nurse on inpatient nursing units or in the ambulatory care setting. The NT II works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure that patient care needs are met. The NT II is competent in performing patient care activities, as delegated, and adheres to patient safety measures. The NT II has knowledge of medical terminology and possesses communication, organizational, and computer skills. The NT II demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness. The NT II must remain actively enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program while employed under this job description.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Work closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to meet patient care needs.
• Perform delegated patient care activities while adhering to patient safety measures.
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Senior-level nursing student who has completed the first year of an accredited nursing curriculum program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in operating nurse call systems, headwalls, patient beds, vital sign monitoring equipment, and supply-dispensing machines.
• Above-average verbal communication skills (heavy public contact).
• Must remain actively enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program.

Schedule

• Weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
• Works a minimum of 24 hours in a month.
