About the Role

Green Acres Baptist Church (GABC) is prayerfully seeking a Christ-centered, relational, and spiritually mature Youth Leader/Director to shepherd our children, youth, and young adults. This role includes opportunities for occasional pulpit supply and may grow into an Associate Pastor position for candidates who demonstrate pastoral gifting and meet biblical qualifications.

The Youth Leader/Director provides leadership for Children (Birth–6th Grade), Youth (6th–12th Grade), and Young Adults (College & Career). We are seeking someone who loves the Lord, loves people, and desires to see the next generation grow into lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Next-Generation Ministries — Plan and oversee Bible studies, discipleship gatherings, retreats, events, and outreach for children, youth, and young adults.
  • Disciple Students and Families — Build relationships, mentor students, and support parents as primary disciple-makers.
  • Teach the Word Faithfully — Communicate Scripture clearly, accurately, and in alignment with Southern Baptist doctrine.
  • Provide Pastoral Care — Offer guidance, encouragement, and biblical counsel within the bounds of Georgia law.
  • Conduct Visitation — Participate in hospital, home, and crisis visitation as part of the pastoral team.
  • Occasional Pulpit Supply — Preach or teach in worship services as needed.
  • Equip Volunteers — Recruit, train, and support ministry workers; lead regular leadership meetings.
  • Support Church Life — Attend weekly services, prayer meetings, and major church events.
  • Collaborate with Senior Pastor — Communicate regularly about ministry direction, needs, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Biblical Qualifications consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1–7.
  • A growing, personal walk with Christ marked by humility, integrity, and love.
  • Ability to connect with children, teens, young adults, and parents.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) and GABC Constitution & By-Laws.
  • Ordained or eligible for immediate ordination.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in youth or family ministry preferred.

Work Expectations

  • Full-time salaried role (minimum 40 hours/week).
  • Sunday is a required ministry day.
  • Maintain a consistent office schedule.
  • Be available to students and families in times of need.
  • Participate fully in the worshiping life of the church.
