Responsibilities
- Operate robotic studio cameras and frame shots based on real-time direction from the control room
- Execute smooth, precise on-air camera moves in a live broadcast environment
- Perform basic shading and color correction using waveform monitors and vector scopes
- Maintain consistent framing, exposure, and image quality across multiple cameras
- Respond quickly and accurately to director cues in a fast-paced, manual control room
- Troubleshoot technical issues and adjust as needed during live production
- Communicate clearly with directors and control room staff during all phases of production
- Work all shifts as assigned, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating studio cameras and/or robotic camera systems in a live television environment
- Proficiency in robotic camera control systems and live shot execution
- Strong understanding of framing, composition, exposure, and color balance
- Able to accurately evaluate video quality, including color and shading
- Ability to perform under pressure in a live, breaking news environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Prioritize proven problem-solving ability and adaptability during live production
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field preferred
- Preferred experience with Ross robotic camera systems, Sony RCPs, and color correction tools (e.g., Cobalt)
