Newsletter & Blog Editor (part-time volunteer)
The Museum of Advertising™ is a NYC-based nonprofit in progress, preserving and celebrating advertising as a creative discipline and cultural force. We are in the early stages of building the organization, with 501(c)(3) status expected to take at least a year to finalize. Currently, we curate online exhibits, produce original writing and video, and plan a proposed pop-up exhibit in 2027. The team is founder-led, AI-augmented, and operates asynchronously on Basecamp, with volunteers self-managing and checking in twice weekly.
About the Role
This is an unpaid volunteer role, requiring 5–10 hours per week. While there is no funding for compensation yet, the role may convert to paid part-time or full-time employment as the museum secures 501(c)(3) status, grants, and sponsorship revenue. Current volunteers will be considered first for future paid opportunities, though timing is uncertain (likely a year or more).
What you’ll gain: public credit on our website and projects, a portfolio of shipped work, access to our network in advertising and brands, and direct experience with AI-augmented creative processes.
