Newscast Producer

About the role

The News Producer will be responsible for the day-to-day production of KOCB/KOKH's newscasts. They will work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors to ensure the newscasts are engaging and informative.

Responsibilities

• Determine the content and flow of newscasts
• Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories
• Develop content for the station's website
• Show solid news judgment
• Write compelling and accurate stories
• Multitask and manage time effectively to produce an exciting newscast
• Work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Show strong leadership and communication skills
• Execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Show flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
• Be proficient with non-linear editing (Avid) and newsroom systems (iNews Experience)

Requirements

• At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station
• A journalism degree is preferred
