About the Role

WWSB ABC7 in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking a Technical Media Producer (TMP) with a background in newscast directing. This part-time position involves bringing aggressively produced newscasts to life in a Ross Overdrive control room. The role includes both newscast directing and Master Control duties, with a flexible schedule covering mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be hard-working, self-motivated, and creative, with a willingness to support special projects and extended weather coverage, including hurricanes and tropical storms.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all broadcast streams for WWSB
• Operate Ross Overdrive and Ross Carbonite Black Switcher
• Direct live newscasts, including breaking news, weather, specials, and sports
• Work daily with the ENPS newsroom computer system
• Maintain understanding of all equipment in the studio and master control area
• Perform daily care and maintenance of equipment and studio
• Operate master control Novation Automation with a Harmonic Video Server, including:
  • Commercial/program ingest and QC
  • Satellite operations
  • Controlling the automation system
• Collaborate closely with other departments to meet daily demands
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Newscast directing experience required
• Experience with Ross Overdrive, VizRT, Nverzion automation, ENPS, and non-linear editing systems preferred
• Experience with Adobe Creative Products (Photoshop and Premiere Pro) is a plus
• Master Control experience with Nverzion or any automation system preferred
• Flexibility with scheduling and job assignments
• Willingness to learn new hardware and software

This position is part-time and supports multiple dayparts and newscasts, including overnights, mornings, and weekends.
