Newscast Director

About the role

An exciting opportunity awaits for motivated candidates wanting to join the KOMO team! We are looking to add a Newscast Director to participate in the production of our newscasts. The ideal candidate would have broadcast production experience and the ability to direct newscasts using Ross Overdrive automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct any assigned newscast using Ross Overdrive production automation systems.
• Provide code assist duties for assigned newscasts using iNews with Ross Overdrive Plugin.
• Maintain production studio and control room environments, including equipment checks, cable management, and orderly operations.
• Operate teleprompter for assigned newscasts.
• Perform any other production duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience directing newscasts using Ross Overdrive
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Typing and good spelling skills necessary
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively with other production team members

Pay

The hourly compensation range for this role is $25.03 to $32.37. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Schedule

Flexible schedule (able to work any shift including weekends and early mornings).
