About the Role
Arizona’s Family is seeking a Reporter who thrives on breaking news and uncovering enterprise stories. As the undisputed news and streaming leader in Phoenix and across Arizona, this role offers the resources of a powerhouse newsroom and a culture built to help you grow. You’ll tell stories that matter to all of Arizona, whether live on the scene or crafting mini-docs for streaming platforms.
Responsibilities
- Research, pitch, and execute high-impact reporting assignments across all platforms, including evening news and 24/7 streaming channels.
- Drive digital engagement by crafting compelling content for web and social media to meet audiences where they are.
- Deliver energetic, authoritative live reporting from the field or studio, with versatility to step behind the anchor desk as needed.
- Develop and maintain deep connections with news sources to uncover exclusive enterprise content.
- Propose and produce hard news follow-ups, features, and mini-documentaries that showcase your range.
- Represent the station at community events, becoming a trusted face for Arizona families.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, broadcasting, or equivalent work experience.
- Two years of general on-air news reporting experience.
- Strong journalistic skills, editorial judgment, and knowledge of editing and photography (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Exceptional communication skills and excellent knowledge of current events.
- Clean driving record.
