News Editor/Technician
Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including 18 FOX Network affiliates in 14 of the top 15 DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs. The stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly and distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content.
About the role
Fox News 32 is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and creative Per Diem Video Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, solution-oriented, and a team player with the flexibility to work various shifts on an as-needed basis, including weekends, holidays, early mornings, and overnights. The ability to shoot video is a plus but not required, along with a willingness to learn other broadcast-related skills.
Responsibilities
- Create broadcast-quality content quickly in a live environment with a keen eye for detail.
- Transform raw video into news packages, features, and show opens.
- Develop graphics that enhance the news story.
- Operate efficiently on non-linear edit platforms like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
- Prioritize assignments and adhere to strict deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in non-linear editing using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and After Effects; familiarity with iNews or similar newsroom applications.
- Proven news editorial judgment and broadcast experience.
- Excellent time management and ability to collaborate effectively with producers under pressure.
- Capable of taking direction, working independently, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Must have photojournalist knowledge.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (weekends, holidays, and overnights) as required by the news cycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Pay
The pay rate for this role is $48.67 per hour, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
