The Role
- Cut and prepare video sequences for broadcast and streaming platforms on tight, live-television deadlines.
- Update iNews scripts with precise running times and cue markers for on-air graphics.
- Maintain absolute accuracy by auditing scripts against edited video and immediately alerting producers and writers to any discrepancies.
- Identify, clip, and optimize compelling video elements tailored specifically for digital and social media publication.
- Edit special reports, sweeps pieces, and other long-form content as assigned.
- Assist the Editing Coordinator with feed intake, archival video restoration, and "rundown checks" to ensure every asset is online before hit-time.
- Step in as the Editing Coordinator when needed, operate ENG Receive equipment, and manage video/audio switching gear to support live streaming initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table
- The Editing Edge: Demonstrated mastery of non-linear video editing software within a high-pressure, daily news environment.
- Digital Organization: Exceptional digital file management and structural organization skills.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with producers, writers, and technical staff during breaking news.
- Platform Literacy: Familiarity with social media video formats, clipping workflows, and modern digital platforms.
- Operational Agility: A flexible, proactive mindset ready to adapt to shifting newsroom priorities and evolving broadcast technologies.
Education & Experience
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a news video editor at a commercial television station is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Systems: Ability to quickly master the station's newsroom computer system (iNews) and clipping software post-hire.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $20.00 per hour.
