News Director

WAFC in Clewiston, Florida, is seeking a full-time News Reporter/Public Affairs Director to cover news and events across the region, including Belle Glade, Clewiston, Moore Haven, and Labelle.

About the role

This position involves preparing and broadcasting news Monday through Friday, with flexibility to adjust schedules for breaking news events. You will also serve as Morning Show talent, partnering with the station’s Program Director.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and broadcast daily news segments
• Edit audio using Adobe Audition
• Conduct weekly local issues interviews for public affairs programming
• Compile a quarterly report summarizing interview content
• Contribute to social media and Facebook postings (preferred but not required)

Requirements

• Essential computer skills
• Flexibility to adapt to news events and scheduling changes

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional adjustments for news coverage.
