News Daily Graphics Artist

Key Responsibilities

• Create daily graphics for broadcast, digital, and social platforms, including infographics, maps, motion graphics, and animations.
• Design and produce high-impact motion graphics using After Effects to enhance WRAL’s award-winning storytelling.
• Collaborate with reporters, producers, and newsroom leadership to transform raw data into compelling, easy-to-understand visual stories.
• Ensure brand consistency by maintaining WRAL’s bold, innovative, and engaging visual identity.
• Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-energy newsroom environment.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in graphic design, motion graphics, or broadcast design.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience with Blender or Xpression is a major plus.
• Strong design instincts—typography, color, composition, and animation that enhance storytelling.
• Able to translate complex news and data into engaging, viewer-friendly graphics.
• A team player who thrives in a high-energy, collaborative environment.
• Passion for news, design, and pushing creative limits.

Physical Demands

• Sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment (e.g., monitors, cameras, or other tools) up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interaction and collaboration with the team.
• Manual dexterity to operate a computer, design software, and other necessary tools effectively.
• Visual acuity to review and adjust graphics and designs on-screen for high-quality output.
