About the role
KOTA/KEVN is seeking a newsroom leader with strong news judgment who can manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate remains composed under pressure, evaluates resources effectively, makes sound decisions, and communicates clearly to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Anchor assigned newscasts
- Report and work as a multimedia journalist (MMJ) in the field, pitching and producing enterprise stories
- Develop creative, engaging, and visually compelling ways to present news
- Report live from the field as needed
- Contribute content across all KOTA digital platforms
- Assist in producing and appearing on KOTA streaming content, including live coverage, breaking news updates, and digital-first shows
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
- Videography and non-linear editing experience
- Ability to write, shoot, and edit attention-grabbing news content
- Excellent on-air presentation and communication skills
- Familiarity with newsroom software (ENPS, Edius) is a plus
- A demo reel of your best work is required
