News MMJ/Backup Anchor

Lakeland News is seeking a MMJ/backup anchor to join their award-winning news team. Located in northern Minnesota near Lake Bemidji, we are in the heart of tourism country.

About the role

• Must be able to shoot, edit, and write your own stories
• Anchoring experience preferred but not required
• Hands-on internship experience is a plus
• Will consider talented candidates looking for their first on-air reporting/anchoring position

Responsibilities

• Shoot, edit, and write your own stories
• Anchor news segments

Requirements

• Must be able to shoot, edit, and write your own stories
• Experience with video production tools
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
• At least one year of relevant work experience

Skills

• Proficiency in video editing software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
