About the role

News 12 is an award‑winning, hyper‑local news station serving Long Island, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester, Hudson Valley, Connecticut, and New Jersey, with a national streaming service (News 12 NY) for regional news, weather, and original programming. The company is seeking an Executive Producer to lead the News 12 Originals team, which creates cross‑platform series such as Crime Files, Revealed, and Haunted Tri‑State. This leadership position requires outstanding storytelling ability, cross‑functional collaboration, and strong team‑management, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute News 12 Original programming from initiation to completion, ensuring on‑time delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
• Lead a team of producers, editors, and camera operators to create unique, compelling content.
• Monitor and track project progress, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders, and delivering feedback to staff.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines, adjusting as necessary to achieve successful outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define project scope, deliverables, and milestones.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure editorial and production values meet News 12’s high standards, driving viewership, audience growth, and brand strength.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in news programming production, with proven experience in both live and long‑form storytelling.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive project decisions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams and managing stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $84,626.00 – $139,030.00 per year, based on skills and experience.
