Newly Qualified Community Midwife
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Midwife to join the Inner Moray Firth Community Midwifery Team on a fixed term/secondment basis until September 2027. This post is suitable for student midwives due to qualify in September 2026.
The team is based in the Midwives hub at Rowans Unit, New Craig’s site in scenic Inverness. On occasions, the post may also include working with colleagues within the other teams in Inner Moray Firth.
There are plans in place to develop the community midwife hub incorporating a day assessment unit where Midwives will have the opportunity to be part of this new venture and work in a supportive dynamic team.
We provide a 7-day midwifery service and there is an on-call commitment required for the provision of a Home Birth/Domino service within the Inner Moray Firth community midwifery teams.
Requirements
- Flexible approach and ability to work as a good team player
- Excellent time management skills
- Full/current driving licence and use of own car with business insurance (essential)
Location
Inverness is a great location if you enjoy both outdoor pursuits and culture, located a short distance from the Airport with regular flights to London, Birmingham, Bristol, and Ireland. The area provides easy access to the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, the North Coast 500 route, and stunning white sandy beaches with opportunities for island hopping to neighbouring islands.
