Certified Midwife

Responsibilities

• Develops a plan of care within scope of practice of the nurse practitioner utilizing written protocols to ensure quality patient care.
• Uses prescriptive authority, procedures, referrals, treatments, and theories in accordance with state/federal laws and regulations.
• Enhances quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.

Requirements

• Minimum Required: 1 year clinical experience functioning in the nurse mid-wife role.
• Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required either a Masters or Doctoral level as a nurse practitioner.
• Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required special skills include computer literacy and CPR/BLS.
• Preferred/Desired: Minimum Required licensure includes current certification by a national certifying body recognized by the Board of Nursing, current license by the state they practice, and eligibility for or certificate of fitness/prescription privileges.
