About the role
The Anesthesia Medical Director position at Advent Health Ocala is a newly increased compensation leadership opportunity. The role will be responsible for overseeing anesthesia services and providing clinical guidance to the medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversee anesthesia services and provide clinical guidance to the medical staff
- Manage the anesthesia department's operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for anesthesia services
- Ensure the highest level of patient safety and quality of care
- Participate in the development and implementation of new technologies and techniques in anesthesia
- Provide consultation and education to other healthcare professionals
- Manage the anesthesia budget and resource allocation
- Assist in the recruitment and training of anesthesia personnel
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to anesthesia care
Requirements
- American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) certification
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in anesthesiology
- Experience in managing a large volume of cases (12K-14K annually)
- Experience in managing a multi-specialty anesthesia department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to manage a busy schedule and handle call responsibilities
- Knowledge of current anesthesia practices and trends
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of Florida
- Board certification in Anesthesiology
- Experience in managing a large volume of cases (12K-14K annually)
- Experience in managing a multi-specialty anesthesia department
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to manage a busy schedule and handle call responsibilities
