About the role

The Anesthesia Medical Director position at Advent Health Ocala is a newly increased compensation leadership opportunity. The role will be responsible for overseeing anesthesia services and providing clinical guidance to the medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee anesthesia services and provide clinical guidance to the medical staff
• Manage the anesthesia department's operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare providers to optimize patient care
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for anesthesia services
• Ensure the highest level of patient safety and quality of care
• Participate in the development and implementation of new technologies and techniques in anesthesia
• Provide consultation and education to other healthcare professionals
• Manage the anesthesia budget and resource allocation
• Assist in the recruitment and training of anesthesia personnel
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to anesthesia care

Requirements

• American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) certification
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in anesthesiology
• Experience in managing a large volume of cases (12K-14K annually)
• Experience in managing a multi-specialty anesthesia department
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to manage a busy schedule and handle call responsibilities
• Knowledge of current anesthesia practices and trends

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current license to practice medicine in the state of Florida
• Board certification in Anesthesiology
• Experience in managing a large volume of cases (12K-14K annually)
• Experience in managing a multi-specialty anesthesia department
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and management skills
