About the Role

We’re looking for motivated individuals who want to make a lasting impact on the financial well-being of individuals, families, and small businesses. If you answer "yes" to any of the following, the Accelerated Path to Management Program may be right for you:

  • Do you have sales or managerial experience in another industry?
  • Have you previously run your own business?
  • Do you have an MBA or other equivalent degree?

In this program, you’ll start as a financial professional, learning to sell our products, build client relationships, and meet specific requirements before transitioning into a management role. You’ll then undergo a six-month intensive training program designed to prepare you for success as a manager, focusing on recruiting and coaching others.

Program Phases

Phase 1: Firsthand Experience as a Financial Professional

During your first year, you’ll work as a financial professional to gain hands-on experience. We provide extensive training, access to digital tools, and a comprehensive product suite to support your success.

  • Training and Resources: Top-notch training to understand the value of New York Life, along with ongoing support, expert guidance, and digital sales, prospecting, and marketing tools.
  • Product Solutions: Learn about our robust portfolio, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and investment products (e.g., mutual funds via NYLIFE Securities LLC, a FINRA/SIPC member). Securities licenses and FINRA registrations are required to offer investment products.

Phase 2: Transition to Associate Partner

After meeting specific requirements in your first 12 months, you’ll enter a six-month Associate Partner training program to lead and build your team of financial professionals. Throughout your career, you’ll have opportunities for growth and promotion to senior management levels.

Compensation and Benefits

As a financial professional, your income will be commission-based. Upon becoming an Associate Partner, you’ll receive a salary ranging from $60,000–$150,000 (minimum $66,560 in California and $67,725 in Washington), plus bonuses and incentives based on team performance, including additional compensation for recruiting and developing agents ("R&Ds").

  • Eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits, life insurance, long-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
  • Access to a pension plan and a 401(k) savings plan.

The average income among our 568 recruiters at all levels in 2023 was $280,000, with significant long-term income potential tied to recruiting performance and team production.
