New Store Opening Manager
Job Summary
The NSO Manager leads the planning and execution of new store openings across the U.S. This is a newly created role critical to scaling Joe's footprint with excellence, speed, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of each store opening: planning, setup, execution, and post-launch support
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and milestone trackers
- Own key operational readiness activities including inventory setup, staffing alignment, POS and tech readiness, and day-one execution
- Partner closely with internal teams including Construction, IT, Marketing, HR, Supply Chain, and Training to ensure alignment and accountability on all opening requirements
- Serve as the operational voice throughout the opening process—flagging risks, removing blockers, and keeping workstreams moving forward
- Build and refine NSO playbooks, templates, and checklists to drive consistency and reduce variability across openings
- Identify repeatable best practices and continuously improve the opening model to enable faster and smoother scale
- Design and lead culture-building events and training experiences to help local leaders open the new store with highly engaged and empowered teams
- Cook up and execute soft opening and grand opening plans in partnership with field and brand teams
- Support Store Managers and site leadership during launch week to ensure operational excellence and team readiness
- Conduct post-opening reviews to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities
Key Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in retail or restaurant operations, project management, or new store openings
- Open to candidates based in Los Angeles or San Francisco
- Demonstrated success managing multiple openings or multi-unit projects simultaneously
- Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting in fast-changing environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and levels
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and energized by bringing new spaces to life
