About the role

We are seeking a Robotics Supply Chain New Product Lead - Tech to tackle the most critical, technologically advanced products at Amazon. The Lead will be responsible for a small portfolio of robotic products and accountable for supplier and supply chain strategies, product cost roadmaps, enabling rapid NPI builds, and ensuring a successful ramp to mass production. They manage their products from concept, through development, to scaled deployment, working with senior product and engineering leaders to drive appropriate trade-offs between commercial vs. technical constraints, risks, and goals.

This role requires technical subject matter expertise to work effectively with technical teams developing robotic products, including an understanding of technologies and architectures, key commodities, and their development and integration strategies. The Lead will contribute to technical strategies and decisions, balancing technical and business requirements to drive scalable products that achieve Amazon’s cost targets.

20–25% travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the product development process by working across cross-functional supply chain teams focused on supplier management, supply chain design, sourcing, logistics, and supply chain execution for robotics products from concept through scaled deployment.

  • Support the development of Product-level Supply Chain Strategy documents, including identification of critical components and suppliers, product cost roadmaps, capacity planning, sourcing and tooling requirements, and supply chain risk assessment and mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to develop negotiation strategies for categories impacting the product, working toward business objectives and building sustainable supplier relationships for Amazon Robotics priority programs aligned to the Operating Plan (OP).
  • Work with Global Commodity Managers (GCMs) to support supplier relationship management, including supplier performance, capability development, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, and cost and quality improvements.
  • Contribute to roadmap development for achieving NPI and GA total cost targets (TCO), including make vs. buy analysis and value engineering opportunities.
  • Support non-cost goals including Sustainability, Supplier Development, and Cost Savings as part of the product-specific supply chain strategy.

  • 3+ years of solving problems with technology in the Automotive & Manufacturing industries experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
