We're seeking a skilled New Product Introduction Engineer to join the CEMA NPI Team supporting programs in southern New Hampshire, guiding the transition to production of several exciting new programs in our Advanced Optical Systems (AOS) or Advanced Compact EW Solutions (ACES) product lines.

About the role

New Product Introduction Engineers deliver expertise in the feasibility of product producibility, manufacturability, affordability, and testability. Throughout the product life cycle, the NPI Engineer will ensure design concepts meet manufacturing capabilities, lead the manufacturing feasibility assessment, create and understand process flow, create and maintain the Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) model, and support transition to production efforts. NPI focuses on design for manufacture (DFM), design for test (DFT), Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, as well as AS9145/APQP product realization activities for new hardware designs. NPI serves as the bridge between engineering, operations and supply chain, to ensure successful product transition to production.

This role will focus heavily on collaboration with multidisciplinary teams from both Operations and Engineering functions, assisting early in prototyping and acting as the voice of the factory in design reviews. This is a first shift position with flexibility to work a 9/80 (with every other Friday off) OR a 4/10 (Monday through Thursday) schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with multiple other organizations throughout the product life cycle, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain
  • AS9145 facilitation and implementation
  • Create and manage Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) model
  • Coordinate and facilitate Transition to Production (TTP) process
  • Provide initial build support and create preliminary processes and process flows
  • Review engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Perform preliminary capacity analyses
  • Support proposals, cost evaluation activities, and prepare Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Actively participate in Program PDR, CDR, and IDR as an assessor
  • Assist in the design, fabrication, and validation of fixtures, tooling, and test equipment for production
  • Identify, propose, and execute Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant working experience
  • H.S. Diploma or GED, BS preferred
  • Experience with optical system or electronic module design and/or manufacturing
  • Experience supporting product development into production environments
  • Team player able to self-manage and prioritize schedule and responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect to all levels of the organization from touch labor through senior management
  • Ability to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in a STEM field
  • Experience in working in New Product Introduction environments and transitioning designs to production
  • Experience with AS9145, DTUPC, Design for Test, Design for Manufacturing
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $118,095 - $200,762. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
