About the role

As New Product Development Manager you will lead mid-scale product-development programs from proposal through launch, ensuring products meet performance, cost, and schedule targets. The role carries budget authority, IPT leadership, and direct customer engagement, while driving strategic business growth in partnership with Product Line Management and Applications Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new products and identify optimal product options to meet performance and cost targets.
  • Lead Integrated Project Teams (IPT) for medium-sized development programs—customer-funded or IR&D-authorized—from proposal through first production delivery.
  • Own program budgets, including meeting Product Cost Targets based on future business projections established with Product Line Management.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled.
  • Control program schedule, expenditures, and estimate-to-complete updates in accordance with customer and company requirements.
  • Review customer requests for quote and make bid/no-bid recommendations for product-development opportunities.
  • Generate and release program work-authorization documentation defining scope, schedule, budget, contractual requirements, and data items.
  • Prepare and present program-review reports to Advanced Product Development management and customers.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Advanced Product Development and related processes.
  • Conduct pricing analysis and modeling to develop optimal pricing recommendations; build credible business cases for senior management.
  • Develop and manage the preliminary Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) at the bid phase and update it when acting as primary Program Manager.
  • Ensure proposed schedules are achievable and facility capacity is available at time of anticipated order placement.
  • Conduct contract negotiations in concert with the assigned Contract Manager.
  • Lead major proposal efforts and programs across sites (CA and AZ), including those requiring multi-factory input.
  • Partner with PLM and Applications Engineering to expand business opportunities through new-product development and marketing.
  • Handle company-sensitive information and data with appropriate discretion.
  • Travel as required; perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical and manufacturing environment within the aerospace/defense industry.
  • 2+ years of leading a development IPT or supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • DOD pricing and contract experience desired.
  • Project Engineering experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business/Marketing with technical program experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) for daily tasks.
  • Ability to work on-site as needed with some remote options.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.

Pay

Salary range: $83,400 – $155,000 (local currency).
