About the role

The New Product Development Manager will lead the development of high speed datacom and telecom solutions used in AI applications. This role involves working closely with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with market needs and drive the implementation of new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic product and annual business plans targeting markets, industries, and customers.
  • Identifies product line trends and technologies.
  • Leads long-term product planning.
  • Gathers technical VOC (mechanical, thermal, SI, FW) from customers and translates it into engineering requirements for the development team.
  • Translates system-level customer requirements into mechanical specifications for the development team: cable routing, bending radius, shielding/grounding schemes, thermal paths, connector mate/unmate forces, and mechanical interfaces.
  • Increase pipeline growth, customer wins, and RPM releases.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure CapEx and product costs are aligned with market conditions.
  • Controls product cost through design-for-cost and material selection; supports supplier engineering to meet quality and cost targets.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve thermal, mechanical, and electrical issues during customer qualification activities, ensuring timely closure against qualification schedules and acceptance criteria.
  • Tracks capacity and drives capital investments supporting forecasted demand.
  • Drives the closure of commercial negotiations with customers on new platform partnerships.
  • Identifies and establishes industry partner relationships.
  • Supports and contributes to Molex's Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S Management Systems.
  • Develops and promotes new technologies through marketing collateral.
  • Manages development projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Collaborates with marketing communications to develop launch strategies for new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience within the high-speed Datacom market.
  • 2+ years of sales experience calling on Datacom accounts.
  • 2+ years of product management experience.

Qualifications

  • Technical background (electrical or mechanical).
  • Experience working with semiconductor/re-timer companies.
  • Experience in negotiating and working with contract manufacturers and electronics market OEMs.
