PennEngineering is seeking motivated, excited, and innovative students for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. Over the course of our 10–12-week summer internship experience you will have the opportunity to:

- Support engineering projects in manufacturing, operations, or technology development.
Responsibilities
- Modeling, drafting, and drawing of fasteners, fixtures, installation or testing equipment.
- Perform teardowns of target application and/or competitive product. This includes full disassembly, documentation through pictures and text, review of the technologies through discussions with engineers, and creating a formal report.
- Perform destructive and non-destructive testing, installation, and measurements.
- Work with sales and marketing to evaluate an idea or concept for possible market acceptance, communicate product function and documentation for sale and use.
- Coordinate with manufacturing personnel to facilitate sample, trial, and final production product.
- Purchase and assemble test fixtures, samples, and other assemblies.
- Actively participate in brainstorming and problem-solving.
- Undertake research to support the learning of new processes, products, and technologies. Document and share with global team.
Requirements
- Working towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Some experience with solid modeling, drafting, and FEA software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience delivering presentations to small or large groups.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to use testing tools as required.
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Must be able to work in an air-conditioned/non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment for an 8-hour shift.
