Reports to: Success Director. Location: New Orleans / Belle Chasse region.

About the role

The New Orleans Ambassador is the public-facing representative of The Boot for the New Orleans, Belle Chasse, and Mississippi Gulf Coast region. This role focuses on building a strong candidate funnel, establishing employer relationships, and representing The Boot within the military and local community. Ambassadors attract, engage, and hand off candidates to the Success Manager, who then moves them through the placement pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate Attraction & Engagement
    • Build a strong funnel of transitioning service members in the NOLA/Belle Chasse region
    • Conduct outreach on base, at TAP events, and through command channels
    • Represent The Boot at job fairs, unit briefs, and community events
    • Educate service members on The Boot’s mission and process
    • Ensure candidates complete the initial sign up and are ready for Intake
  • Employer & Community Outreach
    • Build and maintain relationships with employers in the New Orleans area
    • Identify companies interested in hiring transitioning service members
    • Promote The Boot’s talent pipeline and employer partnership model
    • Coordinate employer introductions with the Success Director when needed
    • Support employer sign ups and track new company engagements
  • Base & Community Relations
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with base leadership and TAP offices in New Orleans, Belle Chasse, and across the Mississippi Gulf Coast
    • Serve as a trusted point of contact for command teams and installation staff supporting transitioning service members
    • Attend base functions, briefings, and community events to strengthen The Boot's presence and reputation in the region
    • Build lasting relationships with local veteran organizations and community partners in the New Orleans region
  • Collaboration with Success Managers
    • Hand off candidates to the Success Manager after sign up
    • Provide context on candidate background when needed
    • Assist Success Managers with their duties when needed
    • Share employer insights and regional hiring trends

Requirements

  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Comfortable engaging with service members, command teams, and employers
  • Outgoing, confident, and mission driven
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and professionally
  • Organized and able to manage outreach schedules and events
  • Familiarity with military culture and transition challenges

Preferred Qualifications

  • Veteran
  • Lives in metro New Orleans area
  • Ability to obtain access to military installations
  • CRM and/or database management experience

Travel Requirements

  • Driver’s License Required
  • Reliable vehicle or transportation
  • Travel to events in Louisiana and Mississippi

Role Impact

The New Orleans Ambassador is the front door of The Boot for Southeast Louisiana and a key builder of relationships with the bases and communities across the region. This role drives candidate volume, employer interest, and regional visibility. Ambassadors bring people into the system; Success Managers carry them through it. Together, they create a seamless experience that leads to successful employment outcomes for transitioning service members.
