New Hire

New Hire pay rate: $22.57/hr. Full-Time, hourly positions available on second shift (3pm - 11pm) and third shift (11pm - 7am).

About the role

Assist operators in processing corrugated sheets according to written specifications/diagrams and prepare product for the next operation at International Paper’s Lynchburg Container Plant, a manufacturer of corrugated packaging.

Physical location: International Paper, 3491 Mayflower Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

Responsibilities

• Abide by safe working practices and policies; wear necessary personal protective equipment.
• Pass pre-employment test, drug screen, health assessment, and background check.
• Work first shift (7am – 3pm), second shift (3pm – 11pm), or third shift (11pm – 7am) with overtime.
• Work cooperatively with peers and supervisors; maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Lift and mount print plates, cutting dies, and ink buckets weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Safely use wrenches for setting pull collars and slotting/scoring heads.
• Work in a fast-paced environment without air conditioning or heat.
• Perform constant standing, walking, and reaching at or below shoulder level; frequent twisting, bending, and lifting from the ground; repetitive lifting up to 20-50 pounds.
• Extract and input data via computer; perform and record accurate reading of measurements.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
