About the role

ABI Resources is hiring for Home Care and Community Life Advocates. We help people with brain injuries and disabilities live safer and more independent lives in Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Help people live safely and independently at home
• Be a steady support and a positive presence
• Assist with daily tasks such as meals, rides, light cleaning, and companionship
• Join clients at appointments and community activities
• Document services with clarity and accuracy using simple tools
• Work in your local area

Requirements

• Age 18 or older
• Your own car, a valid driver license, and proof of insurance
• A strong sense of responsibility and a kind heart
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and keep excellent records
• Clear communication and relationship skills that build trust
• No prior experience required. We provide training and mentor support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of disability support experience helpful but not required
• Valid driver license and insurance
• Background check and personal or professional reference
• Drug screening
• A steady commitment to make a real difference
