New Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Program

A comprehensive new graduate nurse transition to practice program incorporating the Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Individualized education with preceptors on their units
  • Further enhanced with a series of educational days over the course of 6 months
  • Fostering opportunity for mentorship, comradery, and experiential learning

Requirements

  • Graduated from nursing school within twelve (12) months before their date of hire
  • Nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum
  • Reports to the Unit Nurse Manager

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN)
  • BSN preferred
  • Candidates who do not have a BSN must enroll in a Baccalaureate program one year from date of hire and must complete their BSN by the end of the semester in which the four-year anniversary of employment at BMC occurs

Skills

  • Active BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Pay

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
