About the Role

HCA Healthcare is offering sponsorship to Canadian and Mexican students who meet the qualifications for a TN Visa to EB3. This opportunity is for New Graduate Nurses who may apply and interview for a Graduate Nurse role with potential relocation to Kansas City up to 6 months in advance.

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long program designed to provide hands-on experience, establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills, and support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. The program includes:

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor
  • Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders
  • Collaborative work on an evidence-based practice project

The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department-specific requirements and state/specialty scope and standards. The role involves collaboration with medical providers and care teams, using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage."

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, reporting any changes in patient status
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers
  • Document administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient for therapeutic response
  • Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs proactively
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures
  • Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment
  • Other certifications may be required during employment
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
  • No previous experience needed
  • Some travel may be needed for training
