About This Location

Hematology Oncology and Oncology ICU at Carolinas Medical Center. We have 30 beds, 8 of which are ICU capable. We care for patients with Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma, during initial diagnosis, chemotherapy administration, neutropenic fevers, and complications that result in hospital admission. In our ICU beds, we care for any oncology patient that needs a higher level of care, hematology, solid tumor, and post stem cell transplants. Our patients tend to have multiple admissions for chemotherapy or stay inpatient for an extended period of time, as a result, the patients and their families build relationships and show appreciation for the care the nurses provide during this incredibly difficult time in their lives.
