New Graduate Nurse - Emergency Department (Nights)

About the Role

Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the respective State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct.

The Emergency Trauma Center is a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke center, recognized for outstanding trauma services in both Missouri and Arkansas. It is also the region's only Regional Burn Center serving Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

• 70 exam/treatment areas including 6 designated trauma suites
• 11 beds dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, with specialty trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians
• Specialty Behavioral Health resources and treatment areas

The team serves a diverse community and annually cares for 72,000 patients, ranging from minor illnesses to life-threatening diseases or injuries. As a professional nurse, you will interact with nearly every healthcare specialty.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a State-approved School of Nursing.

Licensure: Possess a current RN licensure with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or a current RN Missouri temporary work permit.

Experience: Must have hospital-based experience. Preferred one year of Emergency Department experience.

Certifications:

• ETC and Acute Care Center RNs must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
• ETC RNs must have a current ACLS card or complete a course within 6 months of hire date.
• ETC RNs must have current PALS or ENPC, and TNCC cards or complete courses within one year of hire date.
