Officially becoming a full member of the Cleveland Clinic Health System in 2021, Mercy Hospital offers a wide variety of medical specialties to the communities in and around Stark County. The 23-bed Neuro Medical Telemetry Unit cares for patients with varying neurological needs. As an RN Resident on the team, you will deliver exceptional care alongside a coach throughout the patient care journey. This department offers a great environment to learn and strengthen skills in IVs, NGTs, cardiac drips, and stroke care, preparing you for a higher level of care in the ICU, CCU, or ED.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability).
  • Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Schedule

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Pay

The pay range for new hires is $35.50 to $55.60 per hour. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include applicable pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it include the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
