New Grad RN Resident - Gastroenterology

About the unit

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit focuses on the treatment of complex patients suffering from GI Bleeds, Pancreatitis, Liver Failure, Multi-Organ Failure, Pre-Transplant, Crohn's Disease, and Gastroparesis. The dedicated caregivers on this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to adult patients. We adhere to a strict patient-to-staff ratio never exceeding 6 patients per caregiver. G100 has a positive, team-oriented and supportive culture with daily 7am huddles for both the night shift and day shift to start/end their shift with an optimistic mindset. Experienced caregivers on G100 are eager to educate newer nurses. A caregiver in G100 can expect to gain a strong medical foundation with true medical/surgical nursing. During Rapid Responses on the unit, you will enhance your critical thinking skills, gain ultrasound experience, and collaborate closely with providers on liver cases. G100 is a great unit to pick up knowledge and grow as a nurse.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients' medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Schedule

Nights 7:00pm to 7:30am.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50 – Maximum hourly: $55.60. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
