About the role

HCA Healthcare is committed to the growth and development of its future nurses through the HCA Healthcare New Grad Residency Program. This year-long program is designed to provide hands-on experience and establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
  • Monthly educational sessions.
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
  • Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations.
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
  • Participation in an evidence-based practice project.
  • Coordination and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Avoiding harm to patients by performing procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
  • Documenting the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Administering prescribed medications.
  • Monitoring patient for therapeutic response and notifying provider and intervening as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Responding promptly to patient requests and teaching patients, families and caregivers about their medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience needed.
  • Some travel maybe needed for training.

The pay for this role is commensurate with experience.
