Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Provides hands-on experience to establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills.
  • Transitions from student nurse to registered nurse under the guidance of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents.
  • Participates in advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, and evidence-based practice projects.
  • Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's specific requirements.
  • Collaborates with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
  • Aims to anticipate and resolve patient needs proactively.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.

What You Will Do

  • Assesses patient condition during admission and each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
  • Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Administers prescribed medications and monitors patients for therapeutic response.
  • Notifies providers and intervenes as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests and strives to resolve them proactively.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
  • Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience needed.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.
