About the role
VEG was founded in 2014 with a mission to improve the emergency veterinary experience for both people and their pets. Since then, VEG has grown to offer 24/7, 365-day-a-year emergency services across multiple locations, enhancing the quality of care provided.
THE PROGRAM
The VEG New ER Doctor (NERD) program is designed to transform practicing non-emergency veterinarians into exceptional emergency medicine specialists. This six-month immersive program includes hands-on learning, mentorship, and extensive continuing education (CE) opportunities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work closely with experienced VEG doctors to gain hands-on experience in emergency cases.
- Attend weekly case discussions, literature reviews, and hands-on training sessions.
- Learn best practices for client-centered communication and care.
- Participate in over 160 RACE-approved CE hours, including advanced procedures and certifications.
WHAT YOU NEED
- A passion for helping people and their pets.
- A valid DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
- At least one year of practicing veterinary experience.
- A desire to specialize in emergency medicine.
- A valid license to practice veterinary medicine and DEA registration.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment and lift up to 25 kg.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
