About the role
We are seeking a New College Graduate (NCG) SSD Firmware Engineer to join the firmware engineering team. This role is intended for conversion of a high-performing intern who has demonstrated strong technical skills, ownership, and the ability to contribute to production-quality firmware development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and debug C/C++ firmware for enterprise SSD controllers
- Contribute to firmware features across EVT → DVT → LVM → MP stages
- Work on NVMe protocol, storage command handling, and performance optimization
- Develop and execute unit tests, system tests, and validation tools
- Analyze firmware logs, traces, and failure data to identify root causes
- Collaborate with hardware, validation, and system software teams
- Support customer-specific firmware deliverables when required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (recent graduate)
- Strong programming experience in C and/or C++
- Familiarity with data structures, operating systems, and embedded systems
- Working knowledge of Linux/Windows development environments
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills
- Internship experience in SSD firmware, embedded systems, storage, or low-level software
- Exposure to NVMe, NAND flash, storage protocols, or embedded RTOS
- Experience with Python or scripting for automation and validation
- Experience using version control systems (Git) and code review workflows
- Experience with AI or AI-driven development methodology
