About the role

We are seeking a New College Graduate (NCG) SSD Firmware Engineer to join the firmware engineering team. This role is intended for conversion of a high-performing intern who has demonstrated strong technical skills, ownership, and the ability to contribute to production-quality firmware development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and debug C/C++ firmware for enterprise SSD controllers
  • Contribute to firmware features across EVT → DVT → LVM → MP stages
  • Work on NVMe protocol, storage command handling, and performance optimization
  • Develop and execute unit tests, system tests, and validation tools
  • Analyze firmware logs, traces, and failure data to identify root causes
  • Collaborate with hardware, validation, and system software teams
  • Support customer-specific firmware deliverables when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (recent graduate)
  • Strong programming experience in C and/or C++
  • Familiarity with data structures, operating systems, and embedded systems
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Windows development environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Skills

  • Internship experience in SSD firmware, embedded systems, storage, or low-level software
  • Exposure to NVMe, NAND flash, storage protocols, or embedded RTOS
  • Experience with Python or scripting for automation and validation
  • Experience using version control systems (Git) and code review workflows
  • Experience with AI or AI-driven development methodology
