About the role
NASA is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to assist with implementing science algorithms for processing imaging spectroscopy data from its raw state (Level 0) through to global gridded data products (Level 3).
Responsibilities
- Adapting automated science processing operations developed for the Kepler and TESS exoplanet missions for the SBG precursor activity.
- Developing research algorithms suitable for use with SBG-like datasets.
- Contribute to the development of the Surface Biology and Geology (SBG) observing system.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in Earth Science or a related field.
- Experience with imaging spectroscopy data processing.
- Strong programming skills in relevant languages.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Passionate about Earth Science and space exploration.
- Interest in developing and applying advanced data processing techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Skills
- Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages.
- Experience with image processing and analysis software.
- Knowledge of data processing workflows and pipelines.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000 annually.
