About the role

The New Albany Police Department is seeking individuals who are dedicated to serving the community. We are looking for professionals who can contribute to our mission of protecting life and property.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vacation house checks
  • Offer women's self-defense classes and a Citizen Police Academy
  • Work with businesses
  • Patrol neighborhoods
  • Conduct bicycle safety programs for children
  • Maintain a presence on the school learning campus throughout the academic year

Requirements

  • More than 90% of our uniformed officers have obtained degrees
  • Roughly one quarter of our officers are military veterans
  • Earned National CALEA Accreditation in 2019
  • Successful completion of a drug screening, psychological evaluation, and lie-detector examination

  • Military Service and Bachelor’s Degree: 0.50%
  • Masters or professional degree: 0.75%
  • Military Service and Master’s Degree: 1.00%
