Neurosurgery Team Lead/Charge Nurse

About the role

The Neurosurgery Charge Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care on a 21-bed unit caring for patients post-cranial and spinal surgeries, stroke, and neurological deficits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate unit activities
• Perform direct patient care
• Act as a clinical resource for staff
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with the interprofessional team, patients, and families
• Assess patient data, anticipate changes, and ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Utilize evidence-based practices, support practice improvements, and contribute to staff education and community outreach
• Evaluate patient and family experience, provide feedback, and promote patient satisfaction

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years RN experience required; 5+ years preferred
• Current RN license
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
• Strong leadership, clinical assessment, and communication skills
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and in a safety-sensitive environment
