About the role
The AtriumHealth Wake Forest Baptist Neurosurgery team is seeking a skilled clinician to join their dynamic team located in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This position involves providing comprehensive care to patients with neurosurgical spine conditions.
Responsibilities
- Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
- Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
- Orders and interprets laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
- Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects.

Requirements
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP): Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program is required to start. Valid license by the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner is required to start. Valid American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to start. Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for prescription writing is required to start.
- Physician Assistant (PA): Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred. Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPAC is required to start. Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start. Minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or urgent/emergent care environment. Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.
