Neurosurgery Physician

About the role
The Neurosurgery division at Denver Health encompasses broad-based neurosurgery, including traumatic brain injury (in conjunction with our Level I trauma center), spine (elective and trauma), oncology, and neuro critical care. The successful candidate will balance and optimize call, clinic, ICU, teaching, and research. Preference will be given to spine fellowship-trained candidates.
Our team of 4 physicians and 10 advanced care providers is committed to excellent patient care at Colorado’s leading safety-net institution. Denver Health is certified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with 525 licensed beds and over 26,000 admissions annually. The hospital is nationally recognized for its low observed-to-expected mortality rate and is an affiliate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, offering academic appointments to all faculty.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a faculty member of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, teaching students and providing education for postgraduate medical trainees (20%).
- Focus on superior patient care by practicing evidence-based, high-quality medicine, encouraging patient involvement, maintaining optimal access, and supporting education and research (20%).
- Collaborate on care delivery by engaging staff, physicians, and management in service and patient care improvements, demonstrating ethical and professional conduct (20%).
- Listen and communicate effectively by providing clear clinical information, requesting necessary resources, and exchanging feedback respectfully (20%).
- Take ownership by leading quality and service improvements, ensuring compliance with legal and educational requirements, and enhancing practice efficiency (10%).
- Focus on clinically relevant outcome metrics and embrace innovations to improve patient care, service, and organizational efficiency (10%).
Requirements
- Doctorate Degree (Required).
- State Medical Board License (MD-Physician) (Required).
- Knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
- Ability to manage medical staff support activities while providing quality care.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills, with the ability to interact effectively across diverse backgrounds.
- Computer skills required.

Pay
$556,200.00 - $782,300.00 per year.
