About the Role

Join a highly respected team as an academic and clinical Neurosurgeon at CHI Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health System—the nation’s largest faith-based health system. You will provide comprehensive general and trauma neurosurgery services while working with learners, residents, and fellows from Creighton University School of Medicine. The Neuroscience Institute integrates leading medical experts in neurology, neuroradiology, neuro-critical care, radiation oncology, and neurosurgery to deliver advanced care for complex neurological disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general and trauma neurosurgery services.
• Collaborate with learners, residents, and fellows from Creighton University School of Medicine.
• Participate in primary and backup call shifts, inpatient care, and outpatient clinic coverage.
• Engage in clinical research and receive an academic appointment commensurate with experience.
• Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center with advanced equipment, including a Kinevo microscope with fluorescence, Stealth navigation, O-Arm, and a biplane suite for thrombectomy-capable stroke care.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board eligible or board certified in Neurosurgery.
• Ability to obtain licensure in Nebraska.
• DEA Certification.
• BLS certification.

Work Structure

• Two-week/14-day on-service rotation.
• Flexibility and input into specific scheduling.
• Primary and backup call shifts, plus inpatient care at CUMC Bergan Mercy Hospital.
• Opportunity to cover outpatient clinic when on backup call.

About the Team and Location

Join an experienced and well-respected team of 5 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers. The primary practice location is CUMC Bergan Mercy Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Certified Center. CHI Health operates 5 hospitals in the Omaha-metro area, with Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) Bergan campus serving as the academic hub. CHI Health and Creighton University partner to provide healthcare, education, and research in the Omaha area and beyond.
