Job Summary and Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Performs admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition, providing nursing care to meet physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. Notifies doctors of changes requiring attention and reassesses patients at appropriate intervals.
- Planning: Designs, directs, evaluates, and documents the plan of care, patient/family teaching, and the transition of care plan. Works with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs.
- Implementation: Prepares patients for treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic studies, implements patient safety initiatives, and follows medication safety practices and physician orders.
- Report Skills: Gives and receives reports using the Bedside Shift Report, ensuring continuity of patient care. Receives reports from off-going shifts and delegates tasks as needed.
- Environment & Patient Safety: Maintains a safe working environment, removes used and soiled equipment promptly, and reports patient safety and hazard concerns.
- Supplies: Maintains accurate documentation of charges and supplies used to provide patient care through cost containment measures.
Required
- Associate of Nursing, upon hire
- At least one (1) year of RN experience, upon hire
- Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
Preferred
- Bachelor of Nursing, upon hire
