About the role
The role provides direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses, promoting a safe environment for patients and ensuring their needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, focusing on patient and family centered care.
- Administers or assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, and point of care testing as needed.
- Collects clinical data and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
- Affords assistance with patient and family education.
- Documents all patient care activities with correct medical terminology.
- Acts as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Engages in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- No prior experience required.
- No supervisor experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Assistant preferred.
