About the role
The Neurology Service at the NC State Veterinary Hospital is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained veterinary neurologist for a 12-month Neurology Fellowship. The focus of the fellowship will be dictated by candidate’s interests. Possible areas of interest include (but are not limited to) neurosurgery, neuroimaging, electro diagnostics, epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases and dementia, and spinal cord injury.
Responsibilities
- Provide additional clinical and teaching support to the Neurology Service to ensure there are 2 neurologists on clinical duty throughout the year.
- Time will be split between being on the clinic floor and advanced training.
- 34 weeks rotating on the clinic floor
- 16 weeks dedicated to training in the fellow’s area of interest and research
- 2 weeks of vacation
Requirements and Preferences
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm additional hours may be required
- Department Required Skills: Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree.
- Required License or Certification: Applicants must have successfully completed an ACVIM or ECVIM-approved Neurology residency. Must be eligible for North Carolina Veterinary licensure and/or faculty certificate under the supervision of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Health Complex.
